Your Credit Union

Your Credit Union is unique among financial institutions. It's first goal is to promote thrift among members and provide financial services.

Your Credit Union does this because it is a financial cooperative, a not-for-profit organization owned by you, the members.

Because of its goals and non-profit organization nature, the Credit Union can provide higher dividends on savings plans, lower interest rates on loans and keep the philosophy of people helping people in its daily operation.

The Credit Union is run as a democratic institution, with the membership electing a Board of Directors to establish Credit Union policies. The policies govern day-to-day activities carried on by the Credit Union paid management and staff.

A Credit Committee is elected to examine loan requests made by members and decide on the approval of those loans.

The Supervisory Audit Committee is the watch dog of the Credit Union. Appointed by the Board, it functions as a guard on the use of Credit Union funds, assuring all activities are properly managed and books and records are in order.

All Directors and Committee members serve on a volunteer basis in accordance with credit union law.

Joining the Credit Union is easy. Just complete membership card and forward it to the Credit Union office with $5.00 for the purchase of your first share. This $5.00 will be deposited into a regular share savings account.

Once you become a member, you may remain a member even if you leave employment in the field of membership. Employees' immediate families are also eligible for membership and again, "once a member, always a member."
